– In their first meeting in three seasons, the #1 ranked Westfield Blue Devils defeated the Johnson Crusaders on Wednesday
afternoon at the Johnson Tennis Courts 5-0. It was the first time Johnson hosted a top ranked team.
Sophomore first singles Chris Tylutki fell to Ravi Netravali, last year’s
Union County
first singles runner up, 6-0, and 6-3. The two schools will meet up again in next week’s Union County Tournament, a
competition in which Westfield is the two time defending champion.
Johnson will return to action, and look to clinch their eighth straight NJSIAA
State Tournament berth, when they travel to Scotch Plains to take on the Union Catholic Vikings
at 4:00 p.m.
